Race Directors, Jon Conkling and John Mosey, are excited to announce that the athlete cap of 600 participants has been removed as of May 21st, 2021. This was done after careful consideration of the improving conditions and the lifting of certain guidelines in Michigan and Nationally. On 5/20/2021, the state of Michigan announced that beginning Tuesday, June 1, all outdoor capacity limits will be removed including at sporting events.
“We know we are not ‘out of the woods’ yet with COVID,” Jon Conkling stated. “We have been restructuring the event since last year so that it can held as safely as possible. However, things are improving and we are following the changing guidelines coming out that are based on the latest data.” Mosey said, “We know athletes are anxious to get back to racing and we are thrilled to be able to open registration for all distances.”
The race directors will continue to work with their medical provider to keep up with the most current recommendations as August approaches.
